Most expensive car in the world 2010

The Koenigsegg Trevita is the numero uno for this year's most expensive car. This car which means three white in Swedish is based on the famous mouth watering Koenigsegg CCXR. So if you have an extra $2.21 million dollars and have bought all the Louis Vuitton bags and Cartier home bedding accessories, why not consider buying the Koenigsegg Trevita. This is currently the most expensive four wheel automobile that is on the road and in production. We won't compare these expensive car prices with those antique cars which are for private collection and park in a gigantic bookshelf for show. But this Koenigsegg Trevita is now going for $2.21 million which is currently the record for the most expensive car that is on a car catalogue. And buyers please note, there are only three of these in the market!
The Trevita sports a new white carbon fiber bodywork, a hydraulic lift system, tyre monitoring system, chrono instrument cluster, paddle-shifters and carbon fiber brakes. Everything else is quite similar to the Koenigsegg CCXR. Although the Koenigsegg Trevita may be the most pricey car now, it is still not as fastest car in the world. It is able achieve speed of up to 250 mph, but still lags behind the Bugatti Veyron.

Performance of the Koenigsegg Trevita

Most expensive car in the world

This super sleak looking Bugatti Veyron should be the second most expensive car in the world. If you have some extra cash, say about $2 million dollars (you might have some change after paying for insurance and taxes), you might be able to own the next most expensive car in the world. The Bugatti Veyron price apparently does not deter many people from owning it because the demand has never been met by the yearly production of 50 cars per year. The cost of producing of the car has never been offficially published, one can expect it to be about a third of the price tag. Why does the Bugatti cost so much then? Most would think that the most expensive part would be the Bugatti Veyron engine and the accesoories of the Bugatti itself, most people have forgotten about the brillint engineers behind this top speed machine. It took the top engineers years to design the car and each car is test run for 50000 miles even before the car rolls out of the production house. Interestingly, the Bugatti Veyron is designed by the Skoda people within the Volkswagen group. For this car to be the most expensive car in the world, you really need to have the best brains behind the engine.

Some interesting bits of the Bugatti Veyron specs :

1. The car is engaged by four turbochargers.

2. The car is able to reach 200 and 300 km/h in 7.3 and respectively 16.7 seconds.

3. Top speed is 407.5 km/h,

4. Fuel consumption is 40.4 L/100 km (4.82 mpg) when running at top speed.

5. The Bugatti Veyron has a total of ten radiators :

4 radiators for the engine cooling system. 1 heat exchanger for the air to liquid intercoolers. 2 for the air conditioning system. 1 transmission oil radiator. 1 differential oil radiator. 1 engine oil radiator.

5. A replacement transmission for the Bugatti Veyron costs over $120,000.

6. A set of the Bugatti Veyron tyres cost $25,000. A set of regular tyres made in Japan cost $500.

7. The cost of removing and changing the tyres and can only be changed in France, cost $70,000. Change of tyres of your regular car can be done at home and cost no more than $20 plus a Coke.

8. The cost of changing the oil and filter and other Bugatti Veyron accessories? I think you need to standby at least three credit cards for the job.

Most expensive car in the world sold in 2009

The most expensive Ferrari was sold for almost USD$12 million dollars in 2009. This record breaking amount has made it the world's most expensive car ever bought at an auction. The auction took place in Northern Italy and no one knows who bought this Ferrari black 250 Testa Rossa 1957. The main difference between this price tag and the two million dollars Bugatti Veyron is that the Testa Rossa 1957 is no longer in production and is regarded more of a collectors' item rather than one that is used legally and more regularly on the road. You can possible imagine how much of car insurance is needed when a 12 million dollar car goes on the road, the world''s most expensive car with the most expensive car insurance in the world!

Watch the Ferrari black 250 Testa Rossa 1957 video below and see how the record breaking price is set.

The most expensive car in the world of the BMW

Stunningly distinct and unique, the BMW Z8 is one of the world's top ten most expensive cars. Why not? BMW Z8 resembles almost the perfect sports car with its superior, exceptional and exemplary performance on the road and excellent design. To top it all is its uniqueness. It is quite a convenient car to maneuver contrary to what its detractors say. The BMW Z8 sets a thrilling sensation the moment it hits the road.

The BMW Z8 was designed along the 2000-2003 models, modifying and innovating some of the features to come up with a totally outstanding performance. It has a 394 horsepower produced by a 4.9 liter V-8 from under the hood and a torque of 368 pound-feet.

The BMW Z8 has a standard 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The rush-on power of the Z8 has posted 0-60 mph in the mid-r second range.

The BMW Z8 is built with all-aluminum chassis, exceptionally hard and light that allows you to feel the road and respond to the kind of road you're on. The pinion steering, superior braking systems and extremely stable suspension are perfectly attached at pinpoint precision to the chassis - to provide a smooth run down the road. All these provide an easy response to the driver's pace while the taut rack and pinion steering allow the driver to respond appropriately to the kind of road without having to lose his/her grip easily.

The attractive chiseled interior of the BMW Z8 is definitely mesmerizing. The steering wheel looks evocative of an ideal quintessential sports car equipped with a three metal-roded spokes, and leather-wrapped fat rim. A flexible leather covers the unbrushed aluminum, including parts of the console box, door skins, dashboard, and the rollover bars. The smell of authentic leather permeates inside the car. The final touch is the intuitive black push-button starter, just next to the steering wheel. Depressing the button while the ignition key is on roars the V8 to life. This is indeed one good expensive car to own!

The most expensive car in the world of the Lexus

One of the most expensive car in the world of Lexus is the Lexus LFA. Lexus in their pursuit of excellence was not able to develop a real sports model that has the capacity to compete on the planet of exotic sports cars like the Lamborghinis,Ferraris and the Porsches. The majority of the Lexus cars was made for the comfort of the typical family man and senior executives and has pride itself for developing the most quiet engine. But in the year 2000, Lexus started the genuine sports car project to show off the prowess of it's parent company, Toyota. Until now, what we see is the prototype of the LFA. But this year, Lexus annouced it would start production of this supercar. The LFA will run on V10 engines. This Lexus is priced as a whopping US$500,000.

The Lexus LFA boasts an 4.8-liter V10 with 552 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Lexus engineers claims that 90 percent of the LFA’s torque is available between 3,700rpm and 9,000rpm. Power is sent to the LFA’s rear wheels via paddle-shifted six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox. Set low and back in the LFA’s chassis, the unit adds up to to the car’s nearly ideal 48:52 front-to-rear weight distribution. Lexus has depended to a great extent on stream-lined materials for almost every element of the supercar. Aluminum was initially intended for the LFA’s design however engineers at some point made a decision to employ Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic for the car’s chassis and body. Lexus says the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic is four timesmore robust than aluminum and saved 100kg in weight.

The LFA showcase a Carbon Ceramic Material brakes that are both lighter than steel and more fade less easily. In total, the LFA weighs about 3,300 pounds. The net result of Lexus efforts is a vehicle that can boost from 0-60 in just under 3.7 seconds, with a claimed top speed of 202mph. There is maximum output of 20 units to be made per month and overall production to be limited to merely 500 units. The LFA will be highly tailor-made, with customers allowed to select from 30 paint designs or delete usual accessories such as the car’s audio system. If you are making millions, then consider this top grade and one of the most expensive car in the world.
